My parents gave me the name “Ugochinyere”, which in the Nigerian Igbo language means “the treasure God gave me” or “God’s Eagle”.

“Ugo” refers to eagle, which in my culture is a bird esteemed as a symbol of honor, dignity, and rarity. “Chinyere” combines “Chi” (God) and “nyere” (gave), signifying a gift from God. “Ugochinyere” embodies the notion of a precious and divine gift.

God blessed me with the gift of “YERE” and now I’m blessed to share her with the world.

YERE began as a vision to rewrite the rules of beauty—a response to every standard that tries to define what’s beautiful and what’s not. To me, beauty is an inner game, a Hot Girl Olympics , but with yourself as the only competitor. It’s about showing up, putting yourself first, and celebrating who you’re becoming. With YERE, I wanted to create lip colors that don’t just sit on your skin—they sync with who you are.
